Hillary and Senator Bayh trying to keep others from endorsing Barack

I've been reading through different blog sites tonight and I found one to be particularly interesting. I was not aware that Sen. Evan Bayh, of my home state of Indiana, had requested several congressmen in the state to hold back their endorsements until after the Indiana Primary.

I can understand why he would like this to happen, because not only is he backing Hillary and campaigning with her but he also wants to be her VP if she should get the Democrat Nomination. In case anyone has forgotten, Sen. Bayh ran for President himself at first, for a short time before dropping out.

I think it is totally unfair for Sen. Bayh to say "Do what I say, not as I do". The main 3 congressmen he is trying to convince to hold their endorsements could be a great help to Sen. Obama because they are from rural or small town districts in which Hillary will probably do better in.

She seems to be able to have lived every where she campaigns or has a relative who lives or lived there.  I wonder if Hillary, who once lived in Chicago, will be able to morph herself into a Midwest Hoosier, the way she became the gun toting, coalminer's daughter in Pennsylvania.

Northern Indiana most likely will go for Sen. Obama since they will be more familiar with him living in the Chicago broadcasting area. Indianapolis and Fort Wayne are also larger cities that he should carry. The areas in which the congressmen, who Senator Bayh wants to stay neutral, are like some of the ones Sen. Obama did not win in Pennsylvania.

I think it would be a great idea for anyone who is an Obama supporter to contact these Indiana Congressmen before our May 6th vote here. They may be able to be persuaded that to endorse Barack is the right thing to do before, not after the primary.

It does not seem fair for one person in Indiana to be able to endorse a candidate and tell others to wait. That seems to be "politics as usual"; exactly what Barack is trying to change. If it wasn't for Gov. Rendell and the rest of the "machine" in Pennsylvania, Hillary would most likely have gotten a lot less votes.

To deny Sen. Obama the same kind of support in Indiana is not right. I am giving you a link so you can read about what is going on here In Indiana. This is something that I feel is important for all of us to do to help Barack.

Discussion:

One would hope that those Reps think for themselves?  What kind of "pork" has Bayh and Clinton promised will come home to the Reps' areas?

This tactic goes beyond Sen Bayh.  It's my understanding in PA it's a long standing practic that IF you want the precinct captains to get the people out to vote - you put $$$s on the table or they don't canvass for workers.  Rendell and Nutter know this all too well and came through with the $$$s needed to put key precinct captains in play.  Obama on the other hand knew how the politics of PA were played but refused to go along with the bribes.  This is exactly WHY Obama did not do quite as well in areas PA that he was suppose to see large margins.  Is this political payout done in IN too?????
