If you are not a Christian this might not be your cup of tea. But I read a blog that Kenne wrote about the old rugged cross and the words " On a hill....I Will Cling to the Old Rugged Cross, and exchange it some day for a crown".  http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/o/r/oruggedc.htm

I couldn't agree more with his article. I have often wondered why Christians run away from some of those words that the Bible clearly prescribes and some inspiring spiritual songs teach us. I have been in situations where some of my friends said I followed Christ because I'm frustrated. When I said I was they got more confused and I had to explain that Jesus called on all of us who are tired and are heavy laden to come to him to find rest.

We sing the Old Rugged Cross everyday and yet when someone says we cling to religion, it becomes an abomination. If the cross is an emblem of suffering and Jesus says we should put our burdens on that cross to find rest, why shouldn't Christians cling to that which gives them peace?

I am not surprised that the faint hearted and the church-goers are fueling this issue just to win votes. Honestly, if they are real Christians, they would not be using this issue to gain votes and run away from the TRUTH which is what sets us free. As Christians, we know "Jesus is the way, the TRUTH and the light."

If anyone claims he/she is a Christian and runs away from the truth, we know who they are running away from. So if HRC wants to continue blowing the horn of Christian retreat and call it BO's elitism, she would have to answer on Judgment day. I know truth is not one of her strong points and she is surrounded by people whose second nature is lying. It is unfortunate that they would manipulate Catholic blue collar workers in small towns that the government has virtually forgotten about and 35 years of so-called experience did not do anything to give them relief the last 20 years.

What a waste of energy! Let me ask a simple and truly innocent question: Is it elitism if we change our wardrobes to at least look good? I get confused sometimes and think the TV network is repeating a showing except when I see that the name of the place changes. Margaret Thatcher was ‘an iron lady' but she did not lie and she looked ... Never mind!

Hello, sports fans. I've thought about it as much as probably everyone else--from the bloggers to the pundits, from the voters to the candidates themselves. But when I tried to narrow down Obama's and McCain's options in the VP race to a point where I could make an informed prediction of who they'd choose, I couldn't. Wait, that's not entirely true. I did have my fa more...

Recently on television, Rev. Rick Warren asked Senator Obama a series of questions in front of a live audience of evangelical Christians, and then separately asked Senator McCain the same questions.  I thought that Obama exhibited far more intelligence and insight than did McCain, who basically answered most of the questions by quoting from h more...

I have always been opposed to having HRC as BO's running mate because it invokes a lot of bad memories if one would just parallel this to JFK and LBJ. What I did not know or fathom was that HRC would try to play on the psyche of some of her psycho supporters to actually take BO's life even before he gets the nomination. How pathetic! Su more...

There is this talk about swing states and HRC's claim that no democrat has ever won the white house without them. I totally agree with her but what like many others and some pundits, she forgets that Obama is not the ordinary democrat that she talks about. HRC has won states that would go for a democrat even if it were you who is reading this. De more...

If Barack Obama does not win Indiana and or North Carolina, conventional wisdom would say he lost the votes of the blue collar voters and his affiliation to the Rev. Wright. It might be true. I cannot even begin to try and defend the negative effect of Rev. Wright on the Obama campaign. Yet to say that his massive drop should be attributed to it is more...
