I have been out of the "blogosphere" for a while now, however as the days creep up upon us it is getting closer to the time we hear the name of Barack's Vice-presidential candidate.
I have been following them closely and although I am from the state of Indiana and Evan Bayh has the credentials I would love to see Joe Biden in the position. Joe has an outstanding record in the Senate. He has always been for equal rights and he has great integrity. He is such a likeable and outgoing person and someone who I know Barack has great affection for. I think their chemistry is very important and it would be evident to everyone watching as they campaigned together. I also have no doubt that if Barack allows Joe to "watch his back", there would be no more uncalled for and down right" nasty attacks" from the McCain camp that would go uncontested. Joe has just the right way of defending Barack without coming across as mean-spirited.
Knowing extensive details about foreign policy, Joe, being on the Foreign Affairs committee for years would be such a plus in Barack's weakest suite.
Joe also is very "down to earth" and I feel he could help bring in the "blue collar" workers who they claim Barack has a problem with.
As for the women's vote, Joe has always been a strong supporter of women's rights and so I feel he could pull the women in also. I am hoping Barack makes his choice soon and I think with the right choice he should get a big bump in the polls. I also would hope that Barack has time to read our blogs and see how so many of his staunchest supporters feel. I somehow doubt with all he has going on that he has much time to read but I am so proud of the way he conducted himself overseas and I think he came across as very Presidential.
There is no doubt in my mind that he will take the time to ask , study and learn anything he needs to so as to keep up in all the critical areas. We need a President who is not afraid to ask for assistance or help. We have already had one President who is too "proud" to ask for anything. We all know that "going it alone" has gotten us into the mess we are in now.
As for now, I am sitting on the edge of my seat and waiting to hear the name I am hoping to hear.
