With the primary results from Texas and Ohio (and Vermont and Rhode Island) looming, I felt like venting a little bit about how ridiculous it is that Hillary Clinton can complain about her treatment in the media. I never thought I would agree with Tucker Carlson, but he was right in saying on Dan Abrams last night that if Obama had lost 11 contests in a row, the media would be comparing him to Mike Gravel.
He certainly wouldn't have been given a shred of a chance to
win either
I think Hillary has a right to stay in this election as long as she wants, and no one should disparage her for doing so. The problem is that now the math is against her, and so her only chance of winning is to go sharply negative. She is using attack lines that the Republicans will use in the general election campaign, and in doing so is shielding them of any criticism. I have already heard several prominent Republicans use this argument, saying that if Hillary can attack Barack Obama in such a manner, they can as well.
The fault for the situation we find ourselves in falls
squarely on the DNC. If the party wanted
to end this, they could have. There are
enough uncommitted superdelegates that could have moved en masse to Obama after
his 10 wins, giving him a very wide lead over
The media would have followed suit, and we'd be talking
about an Obama - McCain matchup and about potential VP nominees. Instead, even if Hillary only wins
