If you could bear to watch the de facto opening night of the Republican Convention, you would have seen something amazing. I don’t mean Benedict Lieberman’s speech. Nor am I referring to the remarks from Fred Thompson or President Bush. No, it was looking at the audience that gave me pause.

I'm in tears. I'm in awe. For all those who think that Obama has no steel, no mettle, this speech serves as a wake-up call. For Republicans who think that they can re-run the elections of the past to the same result, this should have a chilling effect.

For those who haven’t seen the ad yet, here it is:
It’s a good one. My problem though is that their response should have come at MOST one day after McCain featured the Paris/Britney ad. The Obama Campaign needs to develop a rapid response unit to counterpunch any McCain attacks in real time.
