MSNBC is reporting that Obama picked up 6 more SDs over the weekend to Hillary's 1, putting the counts at: PLEDGED: Obama 1,647 to 1,502 That makes it only 51.5 delegates needed to cross the magic threshold to 2,026, a number that's not likely to be crossed before the next round of primaries given how the SDs have been marching in small but determined numbers lately. But with the next big date being May 31st with the meeting of the RBC in Washington, the big question is what the new number will be pending resolution of MI and FL delegations and their corresponding voting strength and allocation. Different scenarios have been kicked around regarding them being seated with the pledged delegates penalized with only half votes, both the pledged and super delegates being penalized with half-votes, all delegates being seated with full votes but with 55 MI delegates seated as "uncomitted", etc. So which scenario, and which resulting "magic" number do you think will emerge after the 31st? The decision will be made in 5 days, right before Puerto Rico votes. |
