My-oh-my, don’t some of the rabid right-wingers seem to be acting (extra) strangely lately? Could it be due to the recent flood of bizarre "news" stories they’ve been awash in – and probably even believe?
NEWS FLASH! FEMA is building "relocation camps" to deal with those who oppose President Obama and the Dems in Congress!...NEWS FLASH! They are coming to take away your guns!...NEWS FLASH! Was Obama not even born in the US, thus making him ineligible to be our President?...NEWS FLASH! Did Obama actually bow in adoring allegiance to the Saudi king as an obedient Muslim?...NEWS FLASH! Dick Cheney says we’re doomed – DOOMED! – because of the current administration!...NEWS FLASH! Uh, how come my local supermarket is suddenly out of tea bags?...NEWS FLASH! Will even Chuck Norris be able to lead us out of this socialistic, communistic, atheistic, authoritarian mess? Stay tuned for more (insane) news...
Whew! OK -- take a breath...(and maybe even a pill or two...)
Now, I know that most of this sort of stirring-things-up crap is being driven by the FOX News / crazy righty talkers combine – AND (semi-cleverly...and perhaps even avoiding potential legal ramifications) that Rupert's FAUX News organization often presents these out-there, bizarro-world stories as more "questions" (such as "Is it true that FEMA is planning...?" or "Could it be that the President bowed to...?" – then leaving the answer open) than as truly sourced, authoritative pieces OR as mere reporting on what certain groups or individuals may feel or be expressing ("So, this organization of concerned citizens says they now want to uncover the truth about the President's birth certificate...").
...AND I also realize that A) Limbaugh and O'Reilly will say anything that helps continue to fill their pockets, B) Hannity and Coulter (and Savage and Malkin and etc.) have fully learned the lesson of what Limbaugh’s and O'Reilly's behavior during the Clinton years did to enrich the big guys, and C) Glenn Beck is clearly, unequivocally, certifiably, mutha-freakin' INSANE...
But, still...what the eff is going on with this sort of "Weekly World News" version of headlines and stories? I mean, Beck ends up crying about every other night about the apparently (and semi-random?) tragic directions this country is headed in – and he even called for AN ARMED UPRISING TO TAKE THE COUNTRY BACK, apparently to be headed up by washed-up, can't-kick-higher-than-his-waist-anymore action star, Chuck Norris.
Um, excuse me, Mr. Beck – may I ask you something? Take it back from WHO? WHO is this much-hated usurper that Beck (and the rest of them on FOX and in other places) blames for – apparently – suddenly stealing away all that was good and holy about the good ol’ US of A? With said stealing – also apparently – happening directly under all of our noses, perhaps in the wee hours of a recent winter evening when nobody was paying any attention? Oh wait, do you think they mean "Take it back" from the completely legal, majority-elected current government? Is that what you mean, Mr. Beck? Uh, wha? To paraphrase Walt Kelly’s famous Pogo comic strip, "We have met the enemy and he is…duh?" (Or – two cartoon references for the price of none: Perhaps that should conclude with a Homerian "D’Oh!")
Sigh – maybe I'm just a little jealous at all of this out-there idiocy (or, more precisely, at all the attention the right-wingers have gotten out of it). You see, when I – and many of you and many more like us – thought, then KNEW that this country was making mistakes and was heading for moral, financial, and a general lack-of-thoughtful-leadership ruin (i.e., from 2001 to late in 2008), we tried to change things electorally, at the voting booth. (Cuz...uh...isn't that the way you do things here in the US?) We fell short in 2004 – but, as I always recall (and often remind others), Bush came closer to losing that year than any US wartime President ever did in history – but our side came back to do pretty damn well in 2006...AND then performed historically successfully in 2008. So: Playing by the rules, kiddies – that's how you get things done here.
In the immortal phrase of John Belushi -- but, nooooooooooooo! Now that they're not in charge anymore, the rabid righties are crying unfair and talkin' 'bout some kind of a revolution. Yeah, right – like those turdlings weren't (frighteningly) against anything even vaguely "revolutionary" in '68, during the nuclear-fear '80s, and following the perhaps (probably!) electoral robbery job in '00. But, where my side was perhaps just semi-patient and rule-following (and more than a bit whiny and unfocused at times, I must admit) when out of power, the other side has decided instead to be offensive (in BOTH definitions of the word – being on offense in the game AND offending many), using the tools (heh-heh: LOTS of tools there) of their built-in, unfair and unbalanced media outlets and (very loud) yelling voices of opposition.
...Well – OK, fair enough. Bring on your worst, I say. Pile up your unneeded semi-symbolic tea bags and pass around your circular-logic petitions and decry the kind of lock-grip "control" that YOUR side had on the government until just over two years ago – when the voters of this country took that power away from them…
I still fully believe the philosophical and political pendulum has swung in this country...and, weighted heavily by the voices and votes of that 18-32 age group (thanks again, you majority of voting younger guys and gals!), I think all of those righty big-mouth blatherers are just gonna continue to look more and more ridiculous and removed from reality...AND their backed candidates are going to continue to get swamped at the ballot box. That’s how we roll now.
...Because, of course, no matter how many times they whine and bitch about minutely trivial matters – AND make up as-strange-as-they-can-imagine anti-Obama and -Dem stories and feed them to their hungry sheep – elections are STILL (thankfully!) how we decide things in this country.
Until then, all you right-wing maniac exaggerated headline shouters, don't mind us – we're just gonna be the ones out there who keep changing the channels...

What, no counteraction from we so called liberals and progressives?
This is how the right gained their power. They were consistent. As crazy and sick and twisted as they are-they stick to it!
W@hile we laugh and joke and write about it.
Obama's campaign committee is a prime example of fighting back!
We need to petition these damn wacko radio stations and TV shows and stand up to them! This is not funny or fair or right or what should be going on in America now.
Although there isn't any viable belief that several shootings recently had nothing to do with the instigators from the Right-we know better! What it says is that they're doing something! They ain't playing!
And we shouldn't be either.
Get some of these t-shirts I see on this page updated! With words of trust, faith, and unity and love, and fortitude!
I can clearly see the far-left and the far-right nut jobs in this article. It seems very ironic to point fingers when clearly there is very much wrong with both sides. I'm independent, when is it freedom when only two parties will ever win?
I'm no right-winger, but I can clearly see that Bush was a bomb and Obama is definitely not moving in the right direction. It may get better short-term, but with the patchwork and duct-taping the Government continues to do, this mechanism will only break more and more as time goes by. What of the future generations? Will the "Great Experiment" that is America fail?
The media played a HUGE part in this election by neglecting any candidate besides Barack Obama and John McCain. So, once again, media guided elections. There are only two choices? "Well, of course!" says the media and the public nods in agreement. Can I see slight socialistic tendencies in the Obama Administration, sure I can. By definition, socialism is where the government controls the means of production. We're definitely not there yet. But, we're taking baby steps with the Government buying majority stock or "Bailing Out" certain industries. Once again I thing it's a VERY long shot to call America Communist or even Socialist (as many righties may do). Neither party seems to have correctly spotted the real issues that are causing economic trouble. Baseless money, rampant Government spending (yes, both parties are guilty of this), and the propping up of failing businesses (which is the circle of life in Capitalism). Yes, I'm disheartened with the way things are, it just seems like the real deep-rooted causes of this whole recession isn't being addressed, but simply covered up or patched... by throwing money at it. Problems have never been solved by simply throwing money at it. *Steps Down from Soap Box* ;-)
By the way, even if I do not agree with everything said on this Blog, it IS nice to see people concerned with politics, it wasn't always this way. :-)

Keep calling us names. That's the only things you libs can do when you don't have a valid argument. Very nice....
You said exactly what I was thinking. So many people are not being represented in this country because of the 2 party system and their endless supply of baseless money it's disgusting.
