The Kentucky Democratic Party
The Kentucky Democratic Party is seeking a committed individual to serve as executive director. The applicant must possess strong organizational skills, demonstrated success in winning elections, and technological expertise. The executive director will be responsible for developing and implementing a plan to strengthen and expand the Kentucky Democratic Party. In addition, his or her responsibilities include party building from the precinct level up, developing a cutting-edge technological infrastructure, overseeing party administrative and programs, and monitoring operations of the party and its staff. College degree preferred; at least five years experience in a state Democratic Party organization, political campaign, or any combination of relevant skills, experience and ability. Applicants must be willing to commit to a minimum of 30 months.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Executive Director, working with the Chair and State Central Executive Committee, develops and implements the Kentucky Democratic Party’s strategic plan and oversees the administration and programs of the party, including political affairs, personnel, fundraising, communications, and technology.
Responsibilities:
Political Affairs
Develop and implement a plan to strengthen and expand the party; develop the party’s election strategies and supervise a political director
Administrative & Financial
Oversee federal & non-federal compliance, bank accounts, and other administrative requirements
Personnel
Manage a five-person paid staff in off-election years with appropriate expansion during election years; integrate use of volunteers and, in consultation with the Chair, make staffing decisions
Fundraising
With a finance director, create a yearly fundraising plan and oversee its execution
Communications
Witha communications director, create a comprehensive communications plan, including messaging, media outreach, press releases, web and email, and oversee its execution; develop and maintain professional relationships with national, state and county elected officials and organizations
Technology
Withan information technology director, develop and maintain a state-of-the-art technological infrastructure
